Pune Police has introduced real-time GPS tracking to enhance the annual Palkhi ceremony of Sant Shrestha Sri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj. The procession will start from Shri Kshetra Alandi Devachi and Sri Kshetra Dehu, reaching Pune on 12 June.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and keep citizens informed, Pune Police launched diversion.punepolice.gov.in. This webpage provides updates on the Palkhi route, road closures, open roads, and the palanquins’ current location.
Citizens can access the webpage on their mobile devices or laptops to stay informed and avoid traffic congestion. Four motorcycles with GPS systems will track the procession’s live location and provide updates to officials and the control room for efficient traffic management. Devotees and palanquin vehicles can park at SSPMS College Grounds, Sinchananagar, and Race Course. Detailed parking information is available on the diversion.punepolice.gov.in webpage.
